The definition of marriage, by God:

Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife:
and they shall be one flesh.   Genesis 2:24

Although in the spiritual realm (in God's eyes) I am indeed married, this physical world requires I obtain a piece of paper to authenticate the union between my wife and myself.  I wholeheartedly reject this for several reasons, here are a few

Black's Law Dictionary defines license as,
"The permission by competent authority to do an act which without such permission, would be illegal." 

NO ONE not you, me, no one needs anyone's permission to do something which is God-given.  Even if you don't believe in God being married does not constitute paperwork. (Q: if you don't believe in God does that mean you think humans are the most intelligent form of being?  Hollerback.)

Marriage licenses were not needed in the United States until the 1860s when slavery was slowly being abolished.  Closer tabs were going to be kept now that the savages were let loose.  With the threat of all the black men running around all free and niggerly-like, laws were passed which made it ILLEGAL for black men to marry white women.  These were called "Black Codes" (not to be confused with the Jim Crowe laws about 100 years later which in effect were the same thing).  Here is an excerpt:

 

Section 3.

All freedmen, free negroes or mullatoes who do now and have herebefore lived and cohabited together as husband and wife shall be taken and held in law as legally married, and the issue shall be taken and held as legitimate for all purposes;

and it shall not be lawful for any freedman, free negro or mulatto to intermarry with any white person; nor for any person to intermarry with any freedman, free negro or mulatto; and any person who shall so intermarry shall be deemed guilty of felony, and on conviction thereof shall be confined in the State penitentiary for life.

I think that says all that needs to be said about that.

Have you actually read a marriage license?  Of course you haven't, no one reads anything they sign.  Well here's something it says:  when you sign into a "legal" marriage license contract, you the couple, become a corporation of the state.  You are no longer humans you are a commodity, a piece of property.  The state therefore has "jurisdiction over your marriage including the fruit of your marriage".  The FRUIT meaning your assets, children, property, etc.  Think about it: when a divorce occurs you have to see the state (go to court) and they decide who gets that fruit, whether it be the money, house, kids, etc.  Why?  BECAUSE YOU SIGNED IT AWAY TO THEM, YOUR LIFE CHOICES ARE NOW THEIR DECISION! 

And in long, that is why we refuse and reject being "legally married".

[I've included no links because I want you to research for yourself and see if all this is true.  I suggest you get real familiar with marriage law before you decide to sign your life away to the corrupt government.  If you already have granted the state your fruit, well it's apparent you didn't do the research the first time around but it's never too late to start!]
